Famous NBA Brother Is Doing Well In The G League
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Just a few months ago, it seemed like LiAngelo Ball could join his brother LaMelo Ball with the Charlotte Hornets.

However, after playing with the team in the summer, the front office decided Ball wasn’t what they needed and he was sent to the G League instead.

But despite what some people say, the G League is not where basketball careers go to die.

In fact, they can do a lot for young players and help them thrive.

That’s what is happening with Ball right now.

So far, he has been doing quite well with the Greensboro Swarm.

For example, on Monday night Ball put up 26 points while shooting 66% from the field and sinking 6 three-pointers.

Does this mean that the NBA is once again in the cards for Ball?

Ball Bouncing Back

Can Ball find his way back to the big leagues, either with his brother and the Hornets or possibly his other brother and the Chicago Bulls?

Or maybe he can find a new home in the NBA instead.

The chance of that happening is higher than normal thanks to his performances in the G League.

But that still isn’t a sure thing.

The NBA is incredibly competitive and they don’t often sign long-lasting contracts with G League players.

It does happen, of course, but it usually isn’t for an extended amount of time.

What is more likely is that Ball could get called up from the G League for a short duration and a chance to prove himself on the main stage of basketball.

And if that goes well, he might be suiting up for an NBA team full-time.
