Carlo Pellegatti has claimed that Sergio Conceicao will not be the next head coach of AC Milan, and at the moment there are no certainties as to who it will be.

Milan have already been linked with countless candidates to take over from Stefano Pioli as the next manager, from Julen Lopetegui and Maurizio Sarri to Thiago Motta and Conceicao, yet at present there is no clear idea.

Conceicao is the latest name and he is being pushed above all by La Gazzetta dello Sport, who reported earlier today that he wants to join Milan but must meet with Porto again before any final decisions are made.

Speaking on the Radio Rossonera YouTube channel, Pellegatti gave an update on the process to hire a new head coach and he stated that the names that continue to come out are the result of agents and not of communications that come directly from Milan.

“I understand the nervousness and bewilderment. Milan did not release any names. It is the newspapers that, thanks to the information coming from the agents, give the news,” he said.

“It was the same with Lopetegui, with Fonseca the same. I don’t know if they have already decided, but they are not the ones who are releasing these names. Names are continuing to be erased.

“If it’s true that Conceicao will not arrive, if it’s true that Thiago Motta is going to Juventus and that Conte isn’t considered, apart from De Zerbi – who costs a lot – then who’s left?

“On Gallardo they tell me that he earns a lot of salary. Marco Rose remains, but in that case the negotiation would already be closed. On Conceicao they confirmed to me that he will not be the coach of Milan. They told me to keep the Amorim track alive, but he decided to stay at Sporting CP.”
